The New England Patriots have declined the $20 million option in his contract for the 2015 season making him a free agent, per ESPN’s Adam Schefter. It appears as if the Patriots have chosen secondary mate Devin McCourtey over one of the best cornerbacks in the game. The Patriots just inked up McCourtey on Monday. Revis spent only one season in New England after being traded by the Buccaneers. His short tenure in Boston can be considered nothing short of a bonafide success since the Patriots did win the Super Bowl.
Patriots not picking up $20 million option in DarrelleRevis’ contract; now set to become free agent Tuesday.

This may be a ploy from the Patriots to convinve Revis to stay on for less money, but if there is one thing we have learned about Revis over the years is that he does not play when it comes to his money. This opens up the door to all kinds of suitors who may be willing to overpay for Revis’ service if he turns into a Deion Sanders Style gun for hire. Or he could always go back to the New York Jets and collect a lot of money. <blockquoteclass=”twitter-tweet” lang=”en”>
The #Jets have hit pause on their free agent pursuits in the event DarrelleRevisbecame available. At least, Reviscan gauge his market.
