Free agency doesn’t start until Tuesday but many big name players have verbally agreed to deals with new teams. Ndamukong Suh is headed to Miami. Jeremy Maclin is leaving Philly to team up with former coach Andy Reid in Kansas City. LaSean McCoy was shipped to Buffalo for Kiko Alonso. Marshawn Lynch and Mark Ingram are staying put with their respective teams but what about DeMarco Murray?
DeMarco is the top running back in free agency and could be looking for a big pay day. Although he is a free agent and able to sign with any team, the Dallas Cowboys have made it known they would like to resign Murray, at their price tag. Unlike Suh, Maclin and McCoy, no known teams have offered Murray a contract. We have not seen any figures that state how much other teams are willing to pay Murray which benefits Cowboys’ management.
As of today, the Cowboys are favored to re-sign Murray but all could change on Tuesday. If other NFL teams offers become public, it could drive up the price-tag on Murray. Dallas is set on not over paying during free agency. This is going to come down to what Murray values, a big contract or an opportunity to compete for a championship.
