The Baltimore Ravens discussed their goals of cutting down on offseason arrest a few days ago. Apparantly — Victor Hampton missed the message.
Hampton, 22, is facing DWI, speeding, reckless driving and a open container charge after a trooper clocked a convertible Camaro traveling 100 mph in a 55 mph zone on Interstate 77 in Charlotte.
At approximately 12:26 a.m. The trooper initiated his emergency equipment, and the Camaro was stopped about two miles down the interstate, near Arrowood Road.
Investigators said as the trooper approached the Camaro, he observed two passengers attempting to hide firearms under the front passenger seat.
Hampton was identified as the driver of the Camaro. Investigators said the trooper conducted a DWI investigation and determined Hampton’s blood-alcohol level was .10. The legal limit in the state of North Carolina is .08. Hampton was arrested and booked into the Mecklenburg County jail where he later posted bond.
