The Philadelphia Eagles traded Nick Foles to the St. Louis Rams on Tuesday, and the former Arizona star reacted like it was the NFL Draft.
During an appearance on 97.5 The Fanatic in Philadelphia, ESPN’s Sal Paolantonio said those close to Foles admitted the 26-year-old is ecstatic about getting away from Chip Kelly.
“I just talked to a member of Nick Foles’s family,” Paolantonio said. “The guy is absolutely pumped — overjoyed — that he’s out of Philly. … He was not going to re-sign here and the Eagles were not going to give him a long-term deal.”
For whatever reason, Foles was not Kelly’s guy. Maybe it was the lack of athletic ability. Foles threw for nearly 3,000 yards, 27 touchdowns and just two interceptions in 13 games in 2013, and really didn’t do anything during an injury plagued 2015 season.
