The Dez Bryant and Dallas Cowboys saga continues. Stephen Jones was asked a few questions regarding the Cowboys personnel at the annual NFL owners meetings, and of course the Cowboys pro-bowl receiver was bound to come up. When asked about Dez’s contract extension, Jones insisted that the Cowboys will continue to work to sign Dez to a long term contract before the July 15th deadline, but Jones also commented that the Cowboys would spend a lot of time analyzing the market for the crop of young WR’s who are all expecting big contract extensions (i.g. Demaryius Thomas, AJ Green, and Julio Jones). I hope that there is a conclusion to this saga sometime soon, because Dez has actually been through enough. The guy is simply trying to get paid what he’s worth, while having to deal with all types of scrutiny about some ‘alleged” incident that took place in some Wal-Mart parking lot, however many years ago.
Stephen also said he thinks it’s realistic that the Cowboys could reach a deal with Dez by the July 15 deadline. However …

Basically said there’s a logjam of elite young WRs (Dez, Demaryius, Julio, AJ) who are about to get paid, teams are studying the market.
