Last Week Tonight with John Oliver addressed the NCAA’s hypocrisy about paying their student-athletes brilliantly on Sunday night’s episode. A part of the segment featured Clemson’s head football coach, Dabo Swinney, denouncing the notion of paying players and saying if it ever came to that, he would leave college sports.
Oliver points out that Swinney is paid $3 million per year by the school, and proceeds to poke a little fun at the fact that he trademarked his name so that he may profit from it further. Oliver then went on to point out the Swinney’s name anagrams to soybean wind and created #SoybeanWind fully expecting that Twitter would go wild.
Well, of course, #SoybeanWind went viral, so here are some of the better tweets we’ve come across.
Remember: Clemson coach Dabo Swinney's name anagrams to #SoybeanWind.
