The Patriots’ defense has lost a lot this offseason: Darrelle Revis, Vince Wilfork, Brandon Browner, Akeem Ayers and Jonathan Casillas have all gone to other franchises.
Patriots defensive end Chandler Jones told the Providence Journal that the Patriots’ defense will be good as long as Bill Belichick is their head coach.
“I’m a strong believer in coach Belichick,” Jones said. “Whatever he’s doing, I’m behind it 110 percent.”
Entering his fourth season, the 25-year-old is ready to fill the large leadership void on the defensive line that Wilfork once occupied.
“This is my fourth year. I feel like I’m going into the category of a veteran,” Jones said. “I’m definitely ready to take on that role. I am.”
