Daniel Bryan was pulled off the WWE’s European Tour recently and reports are that it may have been after getting a concussion in a match against Sheamus on Smackdown. The WWE flatly denies that story and says he was sent home merely as a precaution. It goes deeper though as Daniel Bryan is currently undergoing ‘diagnostic testing’ and is in danger of missing the Extreme Rules Pay-Per-View. The WWE has updated their Extreme Rules card with the following.
Via WWE.com,
“Daniel Bryan rose above six other Superstars to capture his first Intercontinental Championship in a Ladder Match at WrestleMania. However, if the ever-popular “Yes!” Man hopes to hold onto the title, he’ll have to get past the Superstar who lost the championship that day, Bad News Barrett, at Extreme Rules. Bryan is undergoing diagnostic testing to see if he can defend his title at Extreme Rules.”
Is it a concussion issue? Is it something with his existing neck injury? The WWE is going to play it cautiously with Daniel Bryan. The WWE is in a transition right now where they want to make sure that their medical staff is beyond reproach so they will not allow Daniel Bryan in a ring if they don’t feel he is ready. Let’s hope that it really is just precautions and that Bryan is healthy.
