Dez Bryant and the Dallas Cowboys have been trying to work out a long-term deal but have had little success, maybe there are to many people trying to be chiefs and not enough indians. Dez has several people in his ear which could be a big part of the problem. The Cowboys and Dez have mutual interest but have made no progress since placing the Franchise Tag on Dez that will pay him $13 million next season.
According to Jean-Jacques Taylor of ESPNDallas.com, an ongoing legal quarrel between Jordan Siev, Bryant’s attorney, and David Wells, a personal advisor for Bryant, is slowing negotiations between the two parties.
“The dispute between Bryant and Wells is among the reasons the star receiver has yet to reach a long-term deal with the Cowboys.”
“In March, the team placed the franchise tag on Bryant that will pay him nearly $13 million this season, but the receiver has yet to sign it. The Cowboys want Wells to remain closely involved with Bryant, whether it’s providing security when he goes out to clubs or in handling some of his day-to-day responsibilities so the receiver can focus on football.”
Wells and Bryant’s relationship started back in 2009 when he was still a member of the Oklahoma State Cowboys. Wells has helped Bryant seal several sponsorship deals and is under contract through 2016 but would be willing to terminate contract if he received compensation.
