Ever since CM Punk abruptly left WWE last year (and then dropped a real-life pipe bomb on the company during a Colt Cabana podcast), the relationship between the E and the Straight Edge Savior has been horrendous to say the least. The company and its former employee are embroiled in a lawsuit right now, so the WWE has done pretty much everything it can not to acknowledge Punk’s existence.
But that doesn’t mean its wrestlers won’t take a shot at the former Champ. NXT stand-out Hideo Itami, formerly KENTA, has long been one of the most popular wrestlers around the world. His finishing move? The GTS, a move that Punk happened to use and make extremely popular in WWE. It’s not uncommon for wrestlers to take moves from other wrestlers around the world, but it is uncommon for said wrestler to say he’d never steal moves afterwards.
It all started with this CM Punk tweet to Matt Jackson of the Young Bucks.
@MattJackson13 that was my formula. Sans the kicks. I'd never steal someone's finish.

Of course, this didn’t sit well with Itami, who say Punk make a living off of his finisher for years. The former KENTA took to twitter to let everyone know how funny he found the comment by Punk to be.
He is a real comedian. #GTS https://t.co/0I7qHSWVaZ

Unfortunately for all of us, a match between the two is a dream we’ll likely never get to see come true.
