Jamaal Charles has been killing defenses for a few years now without any personal goals of his own. What do you expect him to do now that he has his sights set on one singular award.
Charles told the media this week that he wants to play for six more seasons, and rack up an Offensive Player of the Year Award or two.
“I want to be (AFC) offensive player of the year,” Charles said, per ESPN. “That’s always my goal, every year my goal. I want to come back to (Kansas City’s annual) 101 Banquet for the Chiefs award. I want to come back as AFC player of the year. That’s what I’ve been wanting to do. I think I almost got there. Peyton Manning had an awesome season (in 2013), and he beat me out.”
Coming off three-consecutive 1,000-yard campaigns, Charles is definitely among the top running backs in the game. Add in his ability to catch the ball out of the backfield, and you have a lethal combination.
