The 28 rookies at the NFL draft will be doing more than just waiting to hear their name called during the draft on Thursday.
With the new changes in the NFL polices on domestic violence, the players attending the draft will watch a 45 minute video on domestic violence and sexual abuse. The same video watched by the NFL and it’s execs last season after all the fiascos the league had.
“I think there are expectations for being part of the National Football League. And I think just like the prospects that come to the draft — they do community service and have media interaction — this was another situation that we thought was important enough to make a requirement,” NFL vice president of social responsibility Anna Isaacson told Jones.
Players who aren’t attending the draft will be shown the video at the NFL Rookie Symposium. Which makes me wonder, why show it at the draft and the symposium? The same players at the draft will be at the symposium but the symposium will have about 250 players in attendance.
