It isn’t impossible a knockout or TKO could happened on May 2nd, but there are several reasons why it is highly unlikely.
While Pacquiao’s speed still allows for flash knockdowns he hasn’t put anyone to sleep since Ricky Hatton almost six years ago.
Ironically, Hatton is the last guy Mayweather KOed cleanly a little over seven years ago (the Ortiz KO had extenuating circumstances as we know). But, with every fight there are boasts of knockouts and the latest comes from Freddie Roach and Pacquiao.
Pacquiao explain how he was going to make sure Freddie Roach will win another trainer of the year award.
“What would be most special is No. 8, and Manny says, ‘You’ll win that next year, because I’m going to knock Mayweather out,’” Roach said.
“I’ve never heard Manny be so bold. I was really happy he said that to me.”
Mayweather has a underrated chin and Manny besides the 4th Marquez fight has shown to be pretty sturdy, so we will see what happens May 2nd.
