Texas AD Steve Patterson is reportedly on his way to Richmond, Virginia to pick up VCU head coach Shaka Smart, and fly him back to Austin, Texas with hopes of making him the head basketball coach.
Texas officials will be surprised if he doesn’t eventually accept an offer, a source told CBSSports.com on Wednesday afternoon.
OrangeBlood is reporting that a deal is not done, but many expect Smart to take the job.
