Rajon Rondo and the Mavericks visited Staples Center on Sunday, with Dallas successfully sweeping the Lakers in the regular season for the first time in team history.
This post isn’t about the season sweep though, it’s about Kobe reportedly bailing on Rondo….again.
According to the LA Times, Rondo said Bryant “bailed on him again,” after scoring 11 points with 11 assists and eight rebounds against the Lakers. Earlier in the season the two went for breakfast together before Rondo’s trade to Dallas, which added to the rumors that Rondo would be a Laker’s free-agent contender in the summer.
“He called and left a couple of voice mails,” said Rondo, saying they would have to get together some other time. When asked about July when the Lakers can actually recruit him, Rondo answered “I don’t know, I might change my number by then , so we’ll see.”
Rondo is making it seem like Kobe hit him with the Heisman because nobody likes being dodged, especially someone with an ego like Rondo. We’ll have to wait for summer time to see if the two will actually link up.
