The Minnesota Wild just allowed the St. Louis Blues to tie the series at two a piece, and are now heading back to St. Louis for game 5 on Friday night.
It wasn’t necessarily the fact that they lost, but rather the fashion in which they did, that caused an uproar in most of Minnesota.
The Wild had just shut out this Blue’s team in Game 3, becoming the first team in this year’s playoffs to hold their opponent scoreless. The hope was that the Wild would be able to dominate their next game at home, and be sitting pretty heading into St. Louis tomorrow night.
The Wild proceeded in losing Game 4 by a score of 6-1.
Needless to say, that is a WHOPPING of a score differential particularly for the NHL Playoffs. Many fans of the Wild were upset on Twitter, and even the Mayor of St. Paul decided he needed to vent his frustration.
So what does he do? Well, what any 21st Century fan does when they’re upset with their team – he @’d them on Twitter and asked “WTF was that?”
While this may lead to a large group of people begging for more professionalism in the place of office, remember he reached his position because the people voted him in. Clearly he has his finger on the pulse of St. Paul, and isn’t afraid to hold his people responsible when they fail in their duties.
I wish we had more politicians like this.
