Amir Khan has been chasing a fight with Floyd Mayweather for quite some time now and since it seems like that dream may never come true it looks like he’s turned his attention to the next best thing.
During last-Saturday’s Mayweather-Pacquiao fight Broner and Khan ran into each other at the MGM Grand and both fighter made it be known that they’d love to ink a deal.
‘Let’s make this fight happen,’ said Khan.
‘I’m ready, I’ll fight you anytime. Listen bro, I will pull out of this next fight against Chris Algieri if you take the fight [with me]. Let’s do it. You’re not ready for me. You know you’re going to get it.
Broner responded, ‘He’s fighting Chris Algieri. Fight me, I’m waiting on you.’
‘It ain’t about Floyd tonight it’s about me and Amir Khan and me beating his a**. I’ll stop him. F*** Pacquiao, I’m trying to stop Amir Khan.’
It’ll be interesting to see if Al Haymon pulls the trigger on this fight this fall. It should be a relatively easy fight to book figuring both men are under the same advisor. It’d be a good look for both fighters and PBC.
