While the mainstream media in general has ignored Griner and Glory Johnson abusive relationship, the WNBA has come down with a very fair suspension considering their guilty plea.
The 7-game suspension will take effect when the season starts for both Griner and Johnson. What is interesting is the WNBA released their findings about the incident in a pretty quick fashion. Whereas the NFL sometimes takes MONTHS, this only took a couple of weeks.
According to the WNBA’s investigation, the incident began when Johnson pushed Griner in the shoulder and Griner pushed Johnon in the back of the neck. “The confrontation escalated to include wrestling, punches, and the throwing and swinging of various objects,” according to Ritchie’s statement. “[Griner] received a bite wound on her finger and scratches on her wrist, and Glory received a scratch above her lip and was diagnosed with a concussion.”
My hope would be however you view male domestic abusers, you view female domestic abusers the same way.
That goes for media and fans.
