When we have a question pertaining to anything ‘trill’ then there is only one person to ask and that’s Houston’s very own, Bun B. So when former Kentucky player Willie Cauley-Stein officially added ‘Trill’ to his name you know a Bun B assessment on the name change could not be far behind, right? So when the Trill OG heard about the name change he tweeted out his shock.
I would tell Bun B to send over a cease and desist order. Willie had originally gone to add his moms last name ‘Stein’ but also decided to add ‘Trill’ since it was his nickname. Just don’t think you going to use it in any merchandise because Bun B is not having that. Back in 2012, Bun B put out the following tweets on people using the word ‘Trill’ without giving props where it’s due.
Via Vibe,
“@BunBTrillOG: I guess everybody putting Trill on everything like nobody has a trademark on it. When you get that letter in the mail don’t act surprised.”
“@BunBTrillOG: Using trill and showing love to UGK and Port Arthur, the land of the trill, is one thing. But some of these cats think they made it up. No.”
“@BunBTrillOG: I know some cats show love and respect. But using the term for money and not breaking bread with Pimp family ain’t keeping it trill at all.”
So when Willie gets into the NBA and we start seeing shirts popping off using ‘Trill’ on it, expect to hear again from Bun B.
