John Calipari is the head coach of the Kentucky Wildcats, and a guy known for sending his entire starting five into the NBA draft during any random season.
Cal can select from the best of the best in college basketball. Leverage like that, prevents a head coach from getting played by a recruit.
Calipari seems tired of the games being played by five-star recruit, Thon Maker. Maker’s guardian, Ed Smith, told Zagsblog a story about a recent message Cal delivered to the talented wing guard.
“Like Cal said, when you’re ready to be recruited, call me,” Smith said of Kentucky coach John Calipari.
“Anybody would take him [at the semester break] knowing what the plan is.”
Not much more to say in that regard.
