They’re officially deemed offseason workouts, but they are very exciting workouts for the Cardinals because of Carson Palmers presence.
The veteran quarterback joined his teammates on Monday for Phase 2 of Arizona’s offseason conditioning program. Kyle Odegard of the team’s official website noted that Palmer ran the offense and “zipped short, intermediate and deep throws” to a bevy of targets.
“I’m so excited about OTAs, mini-camp, training camp, New Orleans coming here (to open the regular season), going to Chicago — you start thinking of all these things,” Palmer said. “I have to fight that. That’s a hurdle for me, personally. I’ve got to fight that. It’s one day at a time, one rep at a time. I’m not looking past anything.”
It’s the first on-field work for Palmer since the 35-year-old passer tore his left ACL in a November win over the St. Louis Rams.
