With Timofey Mosgov and Tristian Thompson playing superb throughout the NBA Playoffs, David Blatt might be getting a key energy boost just in time for the the NBA Finals.
Cleveland Cavaliers center Anderson Varejao could be available to play if their was a ‘dire’ scenario where the team needed his presence according to ESPN’s Brian Windhorst.
Windhorst had this to say about Varejao on his show ‘Hey Windy’.
“I have been told that should a disaster scenario develop, Andy Varejao probably could play. I don’t think it’s smart to activate a player who you don’t think can play, but if there’s an injury—let’s put it this way: The Cavs will pack Varejao’s jersey to go out there.”
The 11 year veteran from Brazil hasn’t been in action since December 23, in which he tore his Achilles tendon. With Thompson playing Dennis Rodman like, Varejao would be an added welcomed contributor and is one of LeBron James’s favorite teammates.
If Varejao does play in this series, the Golden State Warriors should be worried with his rebounding prowess and above all, his infectious energy that he gives to the Cavaliers.
