A San Diego committee announced its plan to build a $1.1 billion dollar stadium for the Chargers. The proposed new stadium would be built in Mission Valley and would not increased taxes for San Diego citizens. Sounds great however in the plan presented by Citizens Stadium Advisory Group, the Chargers and the NFL would need to contribute $500 Million to the new construction.
Chargers owners thus far haven’t been willing to contribute more than $200 Million to construction of new ownership.
The Chargers have been linked as a team potentially moving to Los Angeles. Most recently they have been in talks with the Oakland Raiders for a joint stadium in L.A.
