La’el Collins is starting to become a popular man again.
Collins, a first-round talent who went undrafted after police said they wanted to question him in connection with the death of his ex-girlfriend, will be the most sought-after undrafted free agent in history.
According to FOX 8 in New Orleans, not only is Dolphins coach Joe Philbin traveling to see Collins, but so are former LSU teammates Jarvis Landry, Anthony Johnson and Kelvin Sheppard.
Less than 24 hours after La’el Collins met with Buffalo Bills head coach Rex Ryan, Collins will now meet with a group representing the Miami Dolphins.
In addition to head coach Joe Philbin, the Dolphins are sending Collins’ former LSU teammates Jarvis Landry, Anthony Johnson and Kelvin Sheppard to meet with the former Tiger standout left tackle, who is now a free agent after going undrafted last week.
Landry and Johnson were also headliners, along with Collins, in LSU’s signing class of 2011. Landry and Johnson departed LSU for the NFL a year early in 2014.
Collins met with Baton Rouge Police Monday and answered questions concerning the shooting death case of 29-year old Brittney Mills, who was eight months pregnant at the time. BRPD continues to say that Collins is not a suspect.
