For years now the Alabama Crimson Tide have had an embarrassment of riches at the running back position, but this offseason they have seen themselves get rather thin on the depth chart.
After T.J. Yeldon left early for the NFL Draft, and Tyren Jones getting dismissed from the program, the Tide is down two backs and one of the remaining backs on the roster is recovering from a horrific leg injury. Altee Tenpenny recently added his name to the mass exodus from Tuscaloosa as he has decided to transfer to UNLV.
Former Alabama running back Altee Tenpenny, a four-star recruit coming out of high school back in 2013, never really saw his career take off in Tuscaloosa. In two seasons, the talented tailback rushed the ball just 48 times for 218 yards and one score. This past January, it was announced that Tenpenny would no longer be part of Alabama’s program. A few months later, we’ve learned where he’s headed.
Monday, Tenpenny announced that he’s transferring to UNLV. He dropped the news via his Instagram account with a cool photo:
The writing must have been on the wall for Tenpenny as far as playing time goes, so I can’t blame the kid for taking his talents elsewhere. I never understood why so many running backs were so eager to go to one school knowing that there is only so many carries to go around anyway. Good luck to the young man in Las Vegas, stay away from the casinos.
