Johnny Manziel may have just taken another step towards bettering his future.
The Browns quarterback has moved out of his downtown Cleveland apartment and into a golf course community in a suburb west of town, according to a source.
At first I thought this looks great. The man whom the Browns discussed trading, or giving up on, unless he reported to rehab this Summer shouldn’t be in any type of city. Get him away from the nightlife. Show the young man there is much more to this life than barhopping.
Sure, it’s Cleveland and not New York City or L.A., but a city is a city! And most of us know all too well the kinds of misfortunes that go down there. Prostitution, illegal drug trafficking, gambling spots that turn ugly etc. He needs to get somewhere safe!
Then I read the next line of the article.
Golf has been a constructive outlet for Manziel since his return, the source said.
Do you know what goes down in most golf country clubs? Just because they’re high class prostitution rings and more expensive drugs doesn’t make them any better.
Thats when I remembered: you can find trouble anywhere. Johnny is a party animal and he’ll be able to find a party anywhere you put him on a map. The real trick is for Manziel to decide for himself whether he wants to party all his life, or become a successful NFL quarterback.
The ‘burbs wont make him an angel but I guess the hope here is that it will help him focus on work that much more. Good luck.
