Jameis Winston has already been the subject of intense media scrutiny since being drafted.
The former FSU QB was drafted by the Bucs first overall, then promptly posted a picture of himself eating crablegs. He ultimately decided to delete the post, which sent twitter into a fury.
The Bucs have since insisted that the picture being removed was not their doing; and former QB turned reporter, Shaun King, has explained the story behind why Jameis decided to take the photo.
Much ado about nothing, basically.
Today, Mr. Winston signed a 4 year, $23mill deal with the Bucs that includes a $16mill signing bonus. With that money, Winston could buy all the crab legs he could ever dream of eating.
Instead, Winston does the boring thing and takes care of his family.
First gift Jameis Winston purchased with his new contract? A recliner chair for his grandmother.

Given the industry standards, this will more than likely go overlooked by the majority of mainstream coverage since it’s not a controversy.
Jameis simply loves his grandmother and knows that, while she may not be able to travel to all of his games, she can at least be comfortable sitting at home watching them.
Good for Winston. If he keeps up this sort of humbleness in the pro’s he should more than live up to his potential.
Jameis told me that he’s not sure if his grandmother can travel to Tampa for games but traveling to Atlanta and New Orleans are possible.
