The National Spelling Bee is the epitome of hip and cool. Trust me, I know this because when asked to put bacchius in a sentence this judge did not hesitate to drop some knowledge on the young kid. Of course we all know what a bacchius is but just to refresh your memory from that fifth grade vocabulary list, it means a metrical foot of three syllables, the first short, the other two long. The judge knows Drake mixtapes and knows he has a rap where every verse begins and ends with a bacchius. Without fail.
All that was needed was for that kid to say the word and drop the mic. Well, he would have to remove the mic from the stand and then drop it. It looks like the National Spelling Bee is trying to attract a younger crowd with these sentences and ESPN is airing it for us to enjoy. Thanks ESPN, very meritorious of you.
