Klay Thompson took a flying knee to the ear in Game 5 of the Western Conference Finals. He was taken to the locker room and didn’t return to the game. Yesterday Klay’s father said that he threw up several times and was incapable of driving home after the game.
These are a few of the most known concussion symptoms but the NBA hadn’t diagnosed Klay during the game, so the verdict was still up in the air. Today the NBA cleared up the speculation with a press release.
Usual concussion protocol calls for Klay to sit out 7 days after concussion symptoms subside. Reports of him throwing up on Thursday would put his earliest return date at Game 2 of the NBA Finals. We will have to wait and see if the NBA follows these recommendations and if they tell GS to sit Klay.
