He should probably rest until the start of the NBA Finals, or until David Blatt believes he needs his star point guard to win.
Kyrie Irving is listed as questionable for game three of the Eastern Conference Finals against the Atlanta Hawks.
Irving, slowed substantially by tendinitis in his left knee and a strained right foot, played in Game 1. He scored 10 points in just over 27 minutes in the Cavs’ 97-89 victory.
The fourth-year All-Star was held out of action in Game 2 as a precautiona. The Cavs won anyway, 94-82.
When the Cavs practiced May 23 at Cleveland Clinic Courts, Irving was able to do some individual drills. He appeared to be moving and shooting well.
Irving was not made available to reporters after practice. His status for Game 3 was the first question asked of Cavs coach David Blatt.
“He’s questionable for (Game 3),” Blatt said. “Hopefully, he responds well to the little workout he did today.”
Matthew Dellavedova played well in Irving’s spot in Game 2, and should continue as needed.
