The New York Knicks are in need of a shake up and quite honestly are in rebuilding mode. Phil Jackson is looking for summer workers and grit-grinders, enter unrestricted free agents Paul Millsap and DeMarre Carroll.
Jackson is looking to insert some hard workers and stability to a team that is synonymous with the NBA Draft Lottery, and a for one of the most storied franchises this is unacceptable. The Big Apple could definitely use Millsap and Carroll.
Not to mention the Knicks are the owner of the 4th pick in this upcoming 2015 NBA Draft.
The Hawks are really in a predicament because both Millsap and Carroll are hot free agents that not only the Knicks, but more than half the teams in the league will be throwing big money their way.
Millsap, who has reshaped his body and established himself as a versatile small forward brings a winning attitude and landed two deserving All Star berths after joining the Hawks in 2013. In the regular season Millsap averaged 16.7 points, 7.8 rebounds, 3.1 assists and 1.8 steals, while shooting 35.6 percent from downtown, something he worked on and never did as apart of the Jazz.
His teammate DeMarre Carroll had his coming out party these past playoffs, showing his heart and competitiveness. Not to mention, averaged 14.6 points while shooting a blazing 48.7 percent from the field and 40.8 percent from behind the arc, who came into his own offensively which the Hawks relied on.
If Jackson could get one or both players to join Carmelo Anthony and Coach Derek Fisher they would instantly be contender to be in the fold for the bottom half of the playoffs.
Phil Jackson will be courting both Millsap and Carroll very soon, will wait to see on who else he’s targeting.
