The second round of the NBA Playoffs hasn’t exactly been a boon for those who claim advanced analytics are the wave of the future for the league. With the Warriors, Hawks and Rockets struggling greatly with their three-pointer-or-die offenses, veteran NBA purists (ie older, bitter basketball folk) are more than happy to point out how great the pick-and-roll Clippers and grit-and-grind Grizzlies look right now.
Cue Phil Jackson, the master of trash-talk. The current Knicks GM took to Twitter to ask NBA analysts just how those three-point focused teams are doing in the playoffs right now, because he’s too busy meditating in Montana to pay attention or something.
NBA analysts give me some diagnostics on how 3pt oriented teams are faring this playoffs…seriously, how's it goink?

If Jackson really is against the analytics movement in the league today, which I doubt is the case, Knicks fans should be a little worried about the man constructing their team moving forward. Most likely, this was just a chance for the Zen Master to jab some new-school guys who think they’ve figured the game out.
