After his announcement to transfer from Notre Dame — Everett Golson has not so surprisingly been mentioned in connection to more than a handful of high-profile potential transfer destinations. Two in particular, are serious contenders.
24/7Sports.com‘s Clint Brewster reports that Golson has tentative visits scheduled this week for South Carolina (Monday) and Georgia (Tuesday). The recruiting website added that the Bulldogs and Gamecocks, are believed to be Golson’s top two choices for a transfer destination.
Because Golson was suspended during the 2013 season, for what he called “poor academic judgement,” whichever school in the SEC he chooses would have to submit a waiver to the league office. SEC bylaw 14.1.15.1, part d, clarifies the conference’s rules for graduate student exceptions: They may receive financial aid, practice and compete … so long as “the student-athlete has not been subject to official university or athletics department disciplinary action at any time during enrollment at any previous collegiate institution.”
