We told you Shaq’s son had game.
Recently a Hoops Mixtape surfaced of the famous freshman in high school, named Shareef O’Neal; and he looked downright dominant.
We had decided to post it and a few days later it spreads like wildfire across all platforms of media. Now, needless to say, a lot of people are ready to appoint him as “The Next Big Thing”.
All of this, despite the fact that the 6’8″ freshman averaged under 4 points a game for his high school varsity squad. I suppose people are just trusting that his still-developing body will one day be strong enough to carry the O’Neal name on the back of that jersey.
You can count the University of Southern California as one of Shareef’s believers. Or at least, they might be.
According to various news outlets, Shareef took to twitter yesterday to announce that USC had offered him a scholarship (complete with #blessed, of course).
However, the youngster may have gotten ahead of himself. The tweet has since been deleted from his account with no explanation as to why.
Maybe he misunderstood them. Or maybe he was supposed to keep it quiet, for whatever reason. We may never know.
What we do know, though, is if Shareef continues to improve on the court than his athletic heritage will live on in some D-1 college, at the very least. But only time will tell..
