NFL Media Insider Ian Rapoport reported that the Texans have just agreed to a four-year extension with Whitney Mercilus worth $26 million on Monday, with $10.5 million guaranteed, according of a source informed of the deal.
For the #Texans and DE Whitney Mercilus, it’s a 4-year deal worth $26M with $10.5M guaranteed. He gets this and no fifth-year option.

Houston has patiently waited for Mercilus to develop into a consistent pass rusher since taking him in the first round of the 2012 NFL Draft.
Mercilus has 18 sacks in three seasons, although we wouldn’t call him a consistent pass rusher.
