Vegas moves when they feel a great player may or may not be available for a huge ballgame.
With a linger discipline hanging over Tom Brady’s head in light of the Wells Report — several Vegas sportsbooks have pulled the Patriots vs Steelers NFL Kickoff off the board.
The Westgate Las Vegas SuperBook, which listed New England as a 6.5-point favorite, is among the books to have taken the Pittsburgh-New England line off the board. Line-monitoring websites Pregame.com and VegasInsider.com both show multiple books having removed the game from betting.
If Brady is unavailable for Week One, the point spread would move to pick ’em, Jay Kornegay, the vice president of race and sports book operations at the SuperBook, told PFT in an email Wednesday.
However, all other Patriots odds remain open for wagering, Kornegay said.
“We’ll monitor and go from there,” he said.
The sports book William Hill Plc. has removed the game — as well as its odds on the results for the AFC East division — from its board.
“Now, obviously, we’re waiting on [NFL commissioner Roger] Goodell to make an announcement,” William Hill manager Nick Bogdanovich told Bloomberg.com in a telephone interview.
