Its seems like Dez Bryant’s fans are much more worried than his teammates. Dez has been absent from the offseason program although it’s been reported that he has been in and out of Valley Ranch in recent days. Jason Witten seems to understand what Dez is dealing with and he isn’t worried about his absence.
“You’d love to have Dez here. I think that would be great. Dez loves playing ball. He’s a great teammate. You miss him when he’s not out there because of the passion and the energy that he brings. He’s a tone-setter. I think everybody understands the business side of that. If there’s one person who wants to be there playing catch and throwing and running and working out, it’s Dez. He’ll be there.”
The Cowboys have assigned the franchise tag to Dez which will pay him $12.823 millions this season but it has yet to be signed by Dez. The hopes of both parties are that a contract extension can be worked out before the July 15 deadline.
“He’s taking care of himself. He’s going to be ready. It’s just part of the business. Hopefully it gets worked out. But if there’s going to be one guy that’s ready, it’s going to be Dez Bryant.”
Witten is one of the captains of the team and its good to see that he supports his teammate’s decision and believes in his work ethic.
