Cam Newton hosted a kickball tournament yesterday with the legendary Bo Jackson in attendance. During the event, Jackson decided to address Newton’s naysayers.
“It’s easy to sit there on your sofa and drink a beer and eat peanuts and criticize somebody,” Jackson said Friday night at Newton’s charity kickball tournament at BB&T Ballpark. “Get your lazy ass out there and try to play.”
Jackson wasn’t finished.
“Those people that are poking holes in his game need to come out and put on a uniform and try to do what he does,” Jackson said. “Period. Bottom line.”
Newton just recently agreed to a 5-year, $103.8 million dollar contract. A lot of “haters” as Jackson would call them are criticizing the move by the Panthers, but Jackson believes Newton has much room for growth moving forward.
“He hasn’t even scratched the surface of his talent,” he said.
Jackson and Newton both were Heisman trophy winner at Auburn University.
