Mills was dressed as MSU’s mascot “Bully” when Mississippi State played Ole Miss at Davis Wade Stadium on Nov. 28, 2013. During the game an ESPN cart ran over Mills’ leg while she was wearing the mascot costume on the field. The accident caused a compound fracture and led to two subsequent surgeries immediately after the game. According to the lawsuit, Mills still experiences pain despite the procedure that including placing a rod in her leg.
Mills is seeking in excess of $75,000 in damages due to a compound fracture of her left tibia and fibula; great fright and shock; pain and suffering; medical expenses; loss of enjoyment of life; and all other damages naturally arising from the injuries suffered.
Cold world, and the suit will likely limit the access of other mascots around the country now.
