UCLA freshman Kevon Looney will be attending the NBA Draft tonight later at Barclays Center.
Earlier today, an insider report on ESPN.com spoke on the matter.
“While his hip injury is fixable, he probably misses the season.”
Hours before the NBA Draft, Looney’s agent Todd Ramasar did his best damage control on this surprising report and spoke with CBSSports.com.
“Looney has “finished every single workout” and just recently had his last ones on Monday and Tuesday. Also, Looney met with a hip specialist earlier in the draft process that cleared Looney moving forward.”
Looney who was a projected lottery pick for most of the year on most mock drafts has been slipping on draft boards who have him slated as a late first round pick. Could this injury be part of the reason?
Whatever NBA team selects the Milwaukee native, will be getting a steal late in the first round with his rebounding ability and offensive versatility. His frame gives Looney a lot of upside and could make him a double double monster in any environment with his strong work ethic which was seen all year in his freshman season when on the court.
Tune in to the NBA Draft later today and see where he lands.
