The Cleveland Browns aren’t moving on from Johnny Manziel, despite an ESPN report that labeled the former Heisman winner as “a fish out of water.”
Browns head coach Mike Pettine to exception to the report, dismissing the claim all together.
“It doesn’t thrill me,” Pettine said, per NFL Media’s Aditi Kinkhabwala. “I don’t pay much attention to what’s going on outside of the building, but when it potentially can drive a spike between the staff and the team, I have issues with it. To me, to talk about how a team’s potentially moved on from a player, or he’s not in plans, that’s just irresponsible.”
Only time will tell, but a Browns team hell-bent on utilizing Josh McCown’s game management skills doesn’t bode well for Johnny Football.
