With the 2015 NBA Draft just a few days away, the rumor mill is churning at full-force. While most rumors revolve around who teams are going to pick, a few involve some potentially major trades.
One of the biggest wild cards of the night are going to be the New York Knicks, who have the 4th pick. There have been rumors of them reaching for a player like Willie Cauley-Stein or trading the pick altogether. According to SportingNews, the team may be considering trading the pick to Phoenix for guard Eric Bledsoe.
The Suns had talks with the Knicks about dealing the fourth pick for point guard Eric Bledsoe and the No. 13 pick, but Phoenix has not been limited to the Knicks in that regard. The Suns have been dangling Bledsoe in trade offers this offseason and are likely to continue to do so after the draft if Bledsoe is not moved this week, sources confirmed.
If New York could get Bledsoe and a lottery pick, this might actually be a deal worth taking a long, hard look at. Bledsoe is a known-commodity, a point guard who can score, rebound and pass while also playing great defense. He’s definitely more of a lock than anyone the Knicks will be taking at four.
For the Suns, the move would be a bit of a head-scratcher. After trading away Isaiah Thomas and Goran Dragic already, it’s hard to understand why the team would want to move Bledsoe as well.
Either way, we’ll have our answers soon enough as the Draft hits this Thursday.
