The Buffalo Bills can’t seem to get it together at the QB position. In May it was reported that 1st round draft pick, EJ Manuel, might not even make the roster. Now that minicamp is over, the tables may have turned.
Matt Cassel appears to be the latest Bills QB on the chopping block. According to ESPN’s Mike Rodak, Cassel performed horribly at minicamp, causing EJ Manuel and Tyrod Taylor to move past him for the starting QB position. The QB position is clearly not the strong point for the team, and all of the going back and forth and indecision is no help.
There were previous reports that EJ Manuel was in danger of not making the Bills roster, but the main difference between Manuel and Cassel is that Manuel’s contract is guaranteed. Cassel is scheduled to make $4.15 million, but the Bills can free up that cap space if he is cut before the season begins. The upcoming Bills training camp should be very interesting.
