Lindsey Miller is so wrong for this, but we can now see how he ended up getting punched.
Miller — the stepfather of Ole Miss tackle Laremy Tunsil — told police that his stepson was meeting with football agents prior to the incident that led to Tunsil’s arrest for domestic assault.
According to The Clarion-Ledger, Miller told sheriff’s deputies on Thursday night that he and Tunsil’s mother, Desiree, initially started arguing about Laremy”riding around with football agents.”
Tunsil, who is projected to be a top five pick in next year’s NFL draft, was arrested on charges of domestic violence after he allegedly assaulted his stepfather on Thursday in defense of his mother, Desiree Tunsil, coach Hugh Freeze said in a statement released Saturday.
According to the police report, when deputy Rudy Howell arrived at the scene at 7:19 p.m. Thursday night, Miller was “very excited” and told Howell that “Tunsil and the agents” left in a yellow convertible.
Tunsil’s voluntary statements were not attached to the report obtained by The Clarion-Ledger. Ole Miss did not immediately respond to a request from The Clarion-Ledger seeking comment.
Per NCAA rules, Tunsil is allowed to talk with agents, he just can’t accept any benefits from them. Miller said upon Tunsil returning to the home, he extended his hand to give Tunsil a handshake, but he allegedly shoved him against a wall and started hitting him.
Tunsil could be the No. 2 overall pick in next years NFL draft according to Mel Kiper.
