With contract talks moving along slowly, Russell Wilson has done the wise thing and has acquired an insurance policy that is worth millions in case of an injury in the final year of his current contract.
Seattle QB Russell Wilson will play last season of his deal w/ insurance policy worth millions in case of career-ending injury, per sources.

This is smart since the Seahawks have been hesitant to give Wilson a long term deal (for now). This is a good way for Russell to cover all of his bases just in case something bad happens this year to hurt his ability to negotiate a big deal.
I think the two parties will eventually come to terms on a big deal, but I think the Seahawks want Wilson to come down on the asking price, even though he has been worth every penny of what he is asking for.
