As the Stanley Cup Finals are ready to start tomorrow, June 3, the mayor of Tampa Bay felt like being extra petty and adding to the trash talk.
Tampa Bay Lightning versus the Chicago Blackhawks is expected to be an exciting series to see. Who are you going for? It’s clear that Tampa Bay’s mayor has sided with his hometown team and started picking on Chicago on the most random of topics. Mayor Bob Buckhorn said the following in regards to how Chicago dyes their river green for St. Patrick’s Day:
“Tampa does a better job dyeing our river green for St. Patrick’s Day than Chicago does,” said Bob Buckhorn, via the Tampa Tribune. “We want to show Blackhawks fans how it’s done, and what better way to do that than dyeing the channel ‘Bolts Blue’ outside the Amalie Arena.”
Mayor Buckhorn knows how to trash talk in the most random of ways. We decided to look up both rivers. The first one is Chicago.
And the second one is Tampa Bay.
Depending on your tastes, you’ll decide which one’s your favorite. In addition, the city will dye the river blue in honor of the Lightning during the Stanley Cup Finals.
