Bob Stoops wouldn’t give much detail, but he recently revealed that he has had many job opportunities presented to him over the years.
The head coach of OU has been there since ’99 and has built his program into a model of consistency. Apparently, at least 5 other teams noticed his coaching ability and reached out in hopes of landing Stoops.
Bob Stoops said he’s had “many more than 5 offers” from college/NFL teams; stayed because of OU’s leadership (prez/AD), family & community

Of course, the coach could have said any number and people would have no choice to believe him since he won’t give any further information; but its no stretch to believe that number when you consider the following via the Sporting News,
Stoops, 54, has been at Oklahoma since 1999 and is 168-44 with a BCS title in 2000. He’s won at least 10 games in 12 of his 16 seasons in Norman, Okla.
Yup, that’ll make other teams come calling. We may never know who, or exactly how many, but we know Bob Stoops is a wanted man.
Thanks for the info, Stoops.
