The Los Angeles Clippers suffered a major blow when DeAndre Jordan turned down their offer and decided to sign with the Dallas Mavericks. Jordan wasn’t a big part of the Clippers offense but his defense, rebounding ability and physical presence on the court was unmatched. Just hours after losing Jordan, coach Doc Rivers and the Clippers are going with ‘Plan B’ which includes using guard Jamal Crawford as trade bait.
One executive I spoke to speculated that the Clippers may shop Jamal Crawford (who's owed $5,675,000) as they look for a replacement center.

The Clippers also lost center Spencer Hawes who was traded away and now they find themselves without a big man. Crawford is an elite scorer in the NBA and several teams could use his services. If I’m the Cleveland Cavaliers I’m getting on the phone right away to gauge the Clippers interest in one of their bigs. Timofey Mozgov played a major role for the team after they acquired him in a trade when Anderson Varejao went down with a season ending injury. They recently re-signed Kevin Love to a 5-year deal and with Tristan Thompson’s long deal expected to follow, Mozgov, Varejao or maybe even Brendon Haywood could spark the interest of the Clippers who will soon be in desperation mode.
