Conor McGregor just made a statement by taking out the featherweight’s best wrestler, Chad Mendes, at UFC 189. Now he is being challenged by the division’s most experienced fighter.
Frankie Edgar was passed up by Mendes for the UFC 189 fight and Frankie believes it’s because the UFC knows that he would beat their “cash cow” Conor McGregor. During a Twitter Q&A Edgar was very vocal about his chances against McGregor.
Frankie went on to answer fan’s questions about when he’ll fight McGregor and where Mendes went wrong:
Conor has to first worry about becoming the outright UFC featherweight champion, a match with Aldo is planned for sometime later in the year, but after that a match in Ireland against Frankie would be hard for him to turn down.
