Former Heisman Trophy winner, and embattled Browns quarterback Johnny Manziel, spent some time training with Jon Gruden in Florida this week, the Akron Beacon-Journal reports.
Manziel’s training with Gruden consisted of film study and on-field work.
The source spoke on condition of anonymity because neither the Browns nor Manziel, the 22nd overall pick in last year’s draft, had publicly discussed the tutoring. WalterFootball.com’s senior draft analyst Charlie Campbell first reported the news.
Gruden, who guided the Tampa Bay Buccaneers to a Super Bowl victory during the 2002 season, has been a huge fan of Manziel since they spent time together last year in front of ESPN cameras during the filming of Gruden’s QB Camp.
